Remote Access Through VPN

Using VPN? Be sure to connect to vpn.uark.edu/library for off-campus access to library resources.

The virtual private network (VPN) application Junos Pulse Mobile is no longer supported by its vendor and will be removed from iOS and Android app stores on September 30. In July 2015, IT Services announced the new Pulse Secure application, recommended for connecting to the campus VPN from a mobile device. Instructions and download links for the new app are available at http://its.uark.edu/personal/vpn.

About VPN

For faculty and staff who work from home, virtual private network (VPN) is essential for accessing on-campus remote desktops, servers or other resources. VPN is a private network created between your computer or device and another computer or server. Log into VPN with your UARK username and password.

Campus ITS and the Libraries offer a special VPN:

This special connection will allow your device to present an on-campus IP address to our licensed resources; no further logins should be required.

Authorized Users

Only current students, faculty, and staff may access licensed resources remotely. See the Remote Access Policy.

Connecting to vpn.uark.edu/library

  1. Navigate to the ITS instructions for installing the VPN Pulse Secure client.
  2. Follow the setup instructions, substituting vpn.uark.edu/library for the default address.
  3. Connect with your UARK username and password.
  4. Once you have an active VPN connection, you should be able to access most of our library databases, ejournals, and ebooks without any additional logins.
