My America: Blues in Arkansas

The focus of the My America Project for the 2007-2008 school year is Southern blues. This exhibit will coordinate with events scheduled at the Walton Arts Center and U of A Student Affairs.

The exhibit features selected materials about the blues from Special Collections. Items exhibited include photos of the King Bisquit Time radio show performers and other blues artists, sheet music from the Mary Hudgins Arkansas Music Collection (MC 534), class reports by students on blues topics from the Mary Parler Collection (MC 1501), and examples of blues CDs, LPs, and a video from the Libraries' Performing Arts & Media Department. Materials feature a special emphasis on Arkansas blues.
