Manuscript Collection 972
INFORMATION ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Letters from the British twentieth-century novelist and literary critic Frank Arthur Swinnerton to Irish novelist Norah Hoult were acquired from the Hoult estate by Special Collections August 19, 1986.
Also included are three letters from Mary (Mrs. Frank A.) Swinnerton to Hoult. Researchers should note that letters from Hoult to Swinnerton may be found in the Swinnerton Collection. This collection complements the department's extensive holdings of Swinnerton material, which includes one other collection of Swinnerton to Hoult letters. For further information, consult the Frank Arthur Swinnerton Papers (MS Sw62) and the Frank Arthur Swinnerton Letters to Norah Hoult (MS Sw62h.262).
The letters are arranged chronologically. Envelopes have been retained only when helpful for determining dates or addresses. Letters without envelopes were addressed to Hoult at "Jonquil Cottage, Blacklion, Greystones, Co. Wicklow, Eire."
Processed by Leon C. Miller, Special Collections Division, University of Arkansas Libraries, Fayetteville, Arkansas, in October, 1989.
