The collection consists of materials documenting Fayetteville's early involvement with Sister Cities International; its sister city partnership with Santiago, Dominican Republic; and the organization of Fayetteville Sister Cities, Inc. These documents include planning documents, photographs, correspondence, business cards, newspaper clippings, and other materials.

Biographical Note
The city of Fayetteville, Arkansas joined Sister Cities International in 1994, and partnered with Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic in 1995. Fayetteville Sister Cities, Inc. was established in 1999 as a non-profit organization to support Fayetteville's relationships with its sister cities, and to promote international cooperation.

The Fayetteville Sister Cities Program Materials were donated to the Special Collections Department by DeDe Long of Fayetteville, Arkansas on September 1, 2017. Long served as the first president of Fayetteville Sister Cities, Inc.
