Biographical Note

Jobelle Holcombe (1877-1962) was a University of Arkansas graduate, professor of English, and Dean of Women at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville; organizer of Torch Society; co-founder of Chi Omega Fraternity; and first woman to be awarded the Doctor of Laws degree by U of A.
