Scope and Content Note
This collection contains handwritten papers of the three family's complex connections. They are placed in the beginning of the collection to orientate the researcher. Financial materials concerning Menone Wilkerson, Wyatt Wilkerson, and the Gallahers are included. Other materials include school and graduation materials for Wyatt Wilkerson, newspaper clippings about the three families, photographs, certificates, diplomas, and two bibles owned by the Rhynes.

Biographical Note
All three families have connections to Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas. The Wilkersons, Rhynes, and Gallahers were all connected through geographical location, work, and marriages. James A. Gallaher was a municipal court judge in Sebastian County during the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's and appointed Wyatt Wilkerson as Sebastian County Clerk. Wyatt Wilkerson and Woods Wilkerson Jr. were brothers and sons of Woods Wilkerson Sr. and Menone Wilkerson. James Gallaher and Wyatt Wilkerson were also members of the American Yeoman Society.
Thomas Jefferson Gallaher and Eliza Jane Rhyne Gallaher were the parents of James A. Gallaher.

The Gallaher, Rhyne, and Wilkerson Family Papers were donated to the Special Collections Department, University of Arkansas Libraries, on July 6, 1990, by Sadie Kate Meek.
