Biographical Note
The Women's Charity League, a philanthropic organization established in 1935, is one of the oldest women's civic clubs in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Over the years, the League's members carried out a series of projects geared towards the community welfare. They provided student sponsorship and helped the Red Cross and Salvation Army drives. They also organized the Washington Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, a volunteer service organization, in 1953, and were active in many other local projects. The last meeting of the League was held on June 26, 1992 when it was decided to discontinue the organization.
