Land patent for a parcel of land in Augusta County, Virginia, issued to John Shelton by the colony's lieutenant governor, Robert Dinwiddie, on August 16, 1756. On the back of the patent is a certification by Charles Lewis, Register of the Land Office for the State of Virginia, dated May 1792.

John Shelton was born in 1713 in Hanover County, Virginia. He was an early settler of Augusta County, Virginia. He passed away September 11, 1777.
