Scope and Content Note

The United States Weather Bureau has produced printed maps of the United States on a daily basis throughout the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries. These maps show frontage systems, rainfall, temperatures, and other climatological data pertinent to the date of issue.

The collection of daily weather maps is incomplete; neither every year nor every day of the year is represented in the maps gathered by the University of Arkansas Geography Department.

The maps have been placed in chronological order.

Acquisition Information

Printed daily weather maps were collected by the University of Arkansas Department of Geography and donated to Special Collections by Dr. John Hehr in September, 1993.

Processing Information

Processed by Kim Allen Scott, Special Collections Division, University of Arkansas Libraries, Fayetteville, Arkansas, in March 1994. Additional materials (Box 48) were incorporated into the collection by Katrina Windon in August 2022.
