Scope and Content Note
The folio volume was compiled under the auspices of the Marion Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, Fayetteville, Arkansas. It is bound in red leather with marbled edges and gilt lettering on the front: "Lest We Forget" and on the spine: "Memorial Record, 1917-1918, Washington County, Patterson [printer], Fayetteville." The memorial book was dedicated to fifty-three Washington County soldiers who died in the war. It contains the soldiers' names, their home address, and the date and the cause of death.

The World War I memorial book was donated to Special Collections by the Fayetteville Public Library, Fayetteville, Arkansas, on June 12, 1993.
The memorial book was originally accessioned as part of a group of materials pertaining to Washington County history donated to Special Collections by the Fayetteville Public Library.
