Biographical Note
The General LaFayette Chapter of the Arkansas Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, headquartered in Fayetteville, Arkansas, was officially certified at the ninety-sixth Annual Meeting in Little Rock, Arkansas, on February 22, 1986. The initial organizational meeting took place in the Meeting Room of Fayetteville Public Library on January 4, 1986 with a view of organizing a new chapter of the Society to serve Washington County, Arkansas, and the surrounding area. All members are direct descendants of soldiers or supporters of the American Revolution.

Arrangement of the Papers
The scrapbooks were taken apart and the material placed in folders while the original order was maintained. The photographs from the album were placed in archival sleeves and numbered.
Acquisition Information
The papers were donated to the Special Collections Division on October 9, 1995.
