Scope and Content Note

The collection contains newspaper clippings about various musical events and workshops which took place under McHugh's direction such as "The Nativity" (1947) presented by the University High School Drama club and a marionette show "The Nutcracker Suite" (1953) staged by the Girl's Chorus of the University High School. A 1969 Arkansas Democrat clipping contains an announcement of Hugh's resignation from the University of Arkansas and her acceptance of professorship at the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. The collection further contains eleven puppets from "The Nutcracker Suite."
