Scope and Content Note
This collection contains correspondence, memoranda, reports, and other published and unpublished writings, mostly regarding the formation and operation of the United States Educational Commission in the Federal Republic of Germany. The collection also includes three books on the German-American relationship, several German-language notices for Fulbright scholarships, and an official Fulbright Commission scarf and tie. Notable correspondents include J. William Fulbright.

Biographical Note
Dr. Ulrich Littman (1927-2015) served as the executive director for the German Fulbright Commission from 1963-1994. In 1997 he published Partners – Distant and Close: Academic Mobility between Germany and the United States of America, 1923-1993, a study of the German-American relationship during the 20th century.
