Biographical Note

Henry S. Hartzog (1866-1953) was president of the University of Arkansas from 1902 until 1905. In his administration a number of new buildings were provided, including two dormitories. For more information, see Reynolds and Thomas, History of the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville, The University, 1910).

Scope and Content Note

The letter is typewritten on University stationery, with the address of the President’s Office. The typewriter used a purple ribbon. Signed in ink. Hartzog replies to a letter from Irving Reinberger of Pine Bluff, assuring him that his request for a dormitory room for his son.
