Biographical Note
The scrapbook was compiled by Dorothy McDonald while she was a student and member of the Chi Omega Sorority at the University of Arkansas. It dates from 1914-1918 and includes autographs, photographs, invitations, newspaper clippings, tickets, and other items pertaining to the campus sorority during that time. Of special note are signatures of the Fulbright family, including future U.S. Senator J. William Fulbright.
McDonald was born October 14, 1986 in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of O.P. and Hattie McDonald. Around 1903 the family moved to Fayetteville, where Mr. O.P. McDonald opened a law firm. Dorothy McDonald entered the University of Arkansas in 1914 and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 1918. McDonald pursued a career as a teacher in Fayetteville before marrying Bryan Paul of Bentonville in October 1925.
