Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education, was founded at the University of Illinois in 1911. The charter for the Alpha Beta Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi at the University of Arkansas was granted on February 19, 1924.
The society consisted of both students and faculty members. During the time period represented by this collection, the group met monthly during the regular school year. During some summer sessions, the group met every week for lunch in the cafeteria. The meetings often featured guest speakers along with discussing business. The society had several committees, including Membership, Program, and Newsletter committees as well as a Scholarship committee that awarded an annual scholarship. Social activities included picnics and initiation banquets.
