Elizabeth Patey, daughter of Kendall and Fannie Bradford Patey, was born in Worcester County, Maryland on October 25, 1792. Elizabeth Patey was married to Levin Watson, a, on January 13, 1817 in Worcester County, Maryland. Levin Watson, son of Levin, was born on February 5, 1786 in Accomac County, Virginia and was a Class Leader in the Methodist Episcopal Church for forty years and a veteran of the War of 1812. Once married, Levin and Elizabeth moved first to a farm in Nashville, Tennessee in 1819, and then to Hickman County, Tennessee by 1836. After living in Tennessee for a number of years, they took up residency in Olive Branch, Mississippi, before moving to Arkansas. Levin and Elizabeth Watson entered Arkansas farms into government records in 1848. In 1849, they purchased a tract of 160 acres in land recently surveyed and opened for settlement in what is now Woodruff County, Arkansas. According to the agriculture census of 1850 Levin Watson was listed as having 15 improved acres, 145 unimproved acres with a total value of farm land of $1000. Land was given to their three daughters’ husbands. Throughout their marriage, they had six children: William H., Kendall P., John A., Margaret Quincy, Elizabeth Colborn, and Susan Watson. Levin died in 1859 and Elizabeth after 1854.
