Scope and Content Note
This collection comprises the scrapbooks of the Marson Home Demonstration Club as well as some from the Lonoke County Council of Home Demonstration Clubs between 1936 and 1963 with some omissions. It also includes the secretarial notebooks from 1968 to 1977, documenting the monthly meetings.
The scrapbooks contain accounts and photographs of monthly meetings, listings of the officers, and any trips/public events in which the organization was involved. The secretarial notebooks recount the monthly meetings including what was discussed and to what purposes the Club’s finances were used.

Biographical Note
The Marson Home Demonstration Club was formed in 1929 by Miss Agnes Compton in the small community of Marson (Lonoke County), Arkansas near Carlisle. It followed the Home Demonstration Club program as set down by the County Council and was active in the local community through their creating instructional boards for the Lonoke County Fair (for which they consistently won awards) and educating women strategies for home care.
