The collection contains four framed political cartoon drawings by Ron Meyer of the Saline Courier, a photocopy of a newspaper column by Meyer sharing anecdotes about Judge Hall, and two undated photographs of Hall.

Biographical Note

Oliver Wendell Hall, Jr. was born June 6, 1920 in Arkansas. He served in the Arkansas National Guard, including active service during World War II, and retired as colonel from the Reserve. In 1945, he married Joanna Edmonson, and they lived in Fayetteville, Arkansas while he studied at the University of Arkansas School of Law. After graduating, Hall moved to Saline County, Arkansas in 1949, where he practiced private law and then served as a deputy prosecuting attorney and as a municipal judge in Benton. The Saline County Bar Association’s O. Wendell Hall Lawyer of the Year award is named in his honor. Hall died in Benton November 19, 2004.
