Biographical Note

Beth Brickell is a writer, actress, and producer based in Sherman Oaks, California.

Brickell was born November 13, 1936, in Brinkley, Arkansas, and grew up in Pine Bluff and Camden. She earned a bachelor's degree in history and political science from the University of Arkansas in 1958. In 1986, she published a series of investigative articles in the Arkansas Gazette regarding the unsolved 1957 disappearance of lawyer Maud Crawford from her home in Camden, Arkansas. Brickell's research on the Crawford case also led to two books, The Disappearance of Maud Crawford (2013) and In Their Own Voice: Interviews from the Maud Crawford Investigation; Or, How a Sociopath Committed the Perfect Murder and Corrupted a Town (2018).
