Scope and Content Note
The collection consists of records of The Town Club, a social organization based in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Materials include meeting minutes, bylaws, member lists, event fliers, photographs, and an audiocassette tape of the group's 50th anniversary celebration.

Biographical Note
The Town Club was founded in February 1947 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Its first co-chairpersons were Charles and Margaret Buxton. The group was founded as a social organization for couples, and membership was originally limited to 20 couples, who were required to attend a certain amount of events every year. Members included Warren and Rea Seagraves, Marilyn and Al Eason, A.D. and Virginia McAllister, Barbara and Frank Broyles, and Janis and Harry Shipley. On October 25, 2018, after more than 70 years of activity, the club held its last event.

Arrangement of the Papers
Materials were received in three binders and on a USB drive and a floppy disk, as organized by club secretary Nancy Long. Materials have been rehoused and migrated for preservation reasons, but original order has largely been maintained. Within two binders, materials were organized by topic, while the third binder deals primarily with club parties.
Acquisition Information
The Town Club Records were donated to the Special Collections Department by club president Brenda Gullett of Fayetteville, Arkansas, on November 15, 2018.

Processed by Katrina Windon; completed in January 2019.
Processing Information
Files received on a USB drive were migrated to Special Collections servers and renamed for clarity when needed; they correspond to Digital Folders 1-3. A 5 1/4" floppy disk was imaged, and three files extracted, but the software required to render these files is unknown; these files correspond to Digital Folder 4.
