Biographical Note

Carl Richey "Cotton" Cordell, Jr., was born December 9, 1928, in Benton, Arkansas. An avid fisherman, Cordell worked as a fishing guide and fisherman and designed his own lures. He established Cotton Cordell, Inc. (later known as Cordell Tackle Company, Inc.), a fishing tackle company, in 1952. In 1980, he sold the company--by then the world's largest lure manufacturer--to EBSCO Industries, which continued to products under the Cotton Cordell brand. Cordell passed away January 6, 2015.
