Biographical Note

Eugene Newsom was born August 19, 1911, in Paragould, Arkansas, to Gene and Helen Donaldson Newsom. He served in World War II, and then returned to Arkansas, where he ran Mid-South Opinion Surveys, a political polling company. Newsom passed away March 8, 2004.

The Eugene Newsom Papers were donated to the Special Collections Department by Eugene Newsom's son, Gene Newsom of Little Rock, Arkansas, on April 17, 2005.
