Pomeroy & McGowin, Inc. is a Monticello, Arkansas-based forest management company. It originated with the Ozark Badger Lumber Company, purchased by Leslie K. Pomeroy in 1925. Pomeroy was soon after joined by his former colleague at the U.S. Forest Service, Eugene P. Connor. In 1938, Pomeroy joined with Julian F. McGowin to create the partnership of Pomeroy & McGowin.
Scope and Content Note
The collection consists of materials regarding the history of the Pomeroy & McGowin, Inc. forest management company and its predecessor, the Ozark Badger Lumber Company. Included are a historical timeline, copies of an organizational history of the Ozark Badger Lumber Company and of its founders, and copies of four unidentified photographs of the lumber industry.
