Biographical Note

Vivian Sisson Watkins (1893- ) joined the chautauqua circuit in 1915 at the age of twenty-two. Watkins worked for the Redpath Chautauqua Bureau as a "reader" who delivered dramatic presentations of a book. In 1921, Watkins left the chautauqua to pursue a business career. That same year he married Josephine Proctor, the Redpath Chautauqua Bureau's casting director.
