Scope and Content Note
Typewritten preliminary draft of text of Ferguson's and James Harris Atkinson's subsequently published Historic Arkansas (Little Rock, Arkansas History Commission, 1966). In two irregularly paged loose-leaf volumes, with cover-titles "Historic Arkansas Units 1-5, Copy 2" (in TS copy) and "Historic Arkansas, Units 6-10" (in TS). Laid in at back of second volume are four loose-leaves of typewritten commentary on specific pages of text, with over-written autograph additions, some of which appear to be (?) in the hand of Orval Eugene Faubus.

Acquisition Information
The John Lewis Ferguson Literary Manuscript Collection was acquired as part of the Orval Eugene Faubus Papers, which were a gift from the University of Arkansas Foundation in September 1978. The papers were separated from that collection in October 1980.
