The collection contains materials related to the Van Hoose Family, primarily of Washington County, Arkansas, and includes photographs, scrapbooks, correspondence, a book on family genealogy, and two issues of the Fayetteville, Arkansas newspaper The Arkansas Countryman. Photograph subjects include schools in Harris and in Elkins, as well as Van Hoose family members.

Acquisition Information

The Van Hoose Family papers were donated to the Special Collections Department by Hildred Mayhill Crawford of Santa Ana, California, on April 9, 1986. Additional materials (Box 2) were donated by Pink and Juanita Van Hoose in May 1988.

Processing Information

Processed by Susan Lynn Parks, Special Collections, University of Arkansas Libraries, Fayetteville, Arkansas, in February 1988. An additional donation of materials was incorporated into the collection as Box 2 by Katrina Windon in February 2022.
