Biographical Note

The Arkansas Children's Home Society was founded by Horace Gaines Pugh in 1912. Dr. Orlando P. Christian was named superintendent in late 1916, when the Society moved from Morrilton to Little Rock. It was renamed the Arkansas Children's Home and Hospital in 1929, and has now evolved into the Arkansas Children's Hospital.
