Biographical Note

Barbara G. Jackson received a B.M. from the University of Illinois, a M.M. from Eastman School of Music, and her Ph.D. from Stanford University. She taught in the Los Angeles public schools and Arkansas Tech University (Russellville) before becoming a member of the music faculty of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She received the the University's Fulbright College Master Teacher Award in 1988.

In 1984, she established ClarNan Editions, a music-publishing company in Fayetteville, which specializes in women composers, a topic that Jackson has written on extensively.

The Barbara G. Jackson Research Materials were donated to the Special Collections Department on March 18, 1988, by Dr. Barbara G. Jackson. Additional materials (Folders 9-10) were donated by Dr. Jackson on May 12, 2021.
