Biographical Note

The University Senate is a governing body of the University of Arkansas. The first mention of the University Senate in the University Catalog is in the 1912-1913 Catalog announcing the 1913-1914 academic year.

The speech in this collection was given by Lewis B. Mayhew to a joint meeting of the Little Rock and Fayetteville sections of the University of Arkansas Senate. Mayhew was a professor emeritus in education at Stanford University.
