Biographical Note

The Butterfield Extension Homemakers Club was organized in 1962 by eleven women who wanted to form a local chapter of the Home Demonstration Clubs. Members selected the name "Butterfield," since most of them lived on Old Wire Road North, which used to be part of the Butterfield Stagecoach Line. The Club works to improve community and family life through programs, activities and meetings.
