Biographical Note

Forrest Caraway (1909-1985) was a Brigadier General in the United States Army. Caraway was born July 18, 1909, to Thaddeus and Hattie Caraway in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1931, and went on to serve in both World War II and the Korean War. He married Betty Pace Meddis on July 1, 1939. Caraway passed away February 24, 1985 in Tucson, Arizona.

The Forrest Caraway Familial Correspondence was donated to the Special Collections Department by Betty Caraway Hill of Tucson, Arizona, in May 1974.
