Photoduplicates of obituary notices, news articles, and editorial eulogies appearing in the Arkansas Gazette, the New York Times, and other newspapers, 1868-1916, reporting the deaths of 13 of the 16 congressmen who represented Arkansas in the Senate and House of the 40th-43rd U.S. Congresses (Jun 23, 1868-Mar 3, 1875) during "Congressional Reconstruction." Includes obituaries for Thomas Boles (1837-1905), Clayton Powell (1833-1914), Stephen Wallace Dorsey (1842-1916), James Thomas Elliott (1823-1875), Thomas Montague Gunter (1826-1904), James Millander Hanks (1833-1909), James Hinds (1833-1868), Asa Hodges (1822-1900), Alexander McDonald (1832-1903), Benjamin Franklin Rice (1828-1905), Logan Holt Roots (1841-1893), Oliver P. Snyder (1833-1882), and William Wallace Wilshire (1830-1888). (Includes no obituaries for: John Edwards, 1805-1894; William Hynes, 1843-1915; Anthony Astley Cooper Rogers, 1821-1898).
