Biographical Note

Tom W. Dillard received the Master's degree in history at the University of Arkansas in 1975. He has worked in Arkansas studies all his professional life, including teaching, archives, and library work.

These papers pertain to the 1968 and 1970 gubernatorial campaigns of Winthrop Rockefeller, to the campaigns of other Arkansas Republicans seeking various elective offices, and especially to the party's efforts to win the votes of African Americans.

The Tom W. Dillard Collection was donated to Special Collections, University of Arkansas Libraries in 1976 by Tom Dillard.
