Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of 68,200 3" x 5" typewritten notecards prepared by Claude Louis Gibson as part of his 1976 Ph.D. thesis, "An annotated index to the Frank Arthur Swinnerton correspondence," which was an index to correspondence in the Frank Swinnerton Papers (MS Sw62), as well as sheets (4"x6" ) of microfiche that were filmed from the original notecards.

Biographical Note

Claude Louis Gibson earned his Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas English Department in 1976; his dissertation was entitled "An annotated index to the Frank Arthur Swinnerton correspondence."

The Claude Louis Gibson "An Annotated Index to the Frank Arthur Swinnerton Correspondence" was donated to the Special Collections Department by Claude Louis Gibson of Fayetteville, Arkansas, on November 7, 1977. Microfiche scans were created by Audio Visual between August 1976 and November 1977.
