Biographical Note

G. W. "Felix" Hayes was a mechanical engineering student in the Preparatory Department of Arkansas Industrial University for the 1887/88 and 1888/89 sessions. He married Margaret Elisabeth Clark, and later served several terms as Washington County, Ark. Tax Assessor, 1906-1910, 1921-23, and 1925-30.

Acquisition Information

Box LOC 285, Items 1-4 of the George Winfield Hayes Papers were donated to the Special Collections Department by Lina Hayes Watson of Fayetteville, Arkansas, in December 1972. Items in Box 1 were likely donated by Watson at a later date.
