Biographical Note

Coulter W. Jones was born May 13, 1881, in Lono, Arkansas. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1905 with a degree in chemistry, and went on to work for Dow Chemical Company before becoming president of the Jones Chemical Company. In 1933, Jones was awarded an honorary doctor of laws from the University of Arkansas. A University of Arkansas scholarship for chemistry students, the Coulter W. Jones Award, is named in his honor.

Jones passed away July 19, 1967, in California.
