Included are the correspondence, reports, speeches, notes, datebooks, literary manuscripts, photographs, printed material and legal, business and tax records pertaining to the life, career, civic activities, business and financial interests of Colter Hamilton Moses. Correspondents include Thomas Harry Barton, Charles Hillman Brough and John Little McClellan. Contents of nine Colter Hamilton Moses scrapbooks, 1919-1956, were microfilmed and are available as microfilm copies only.

Biographical Note

Colter Hamilton Moses was a Little Rock Arkansas lawyer, financier, industrialist, and civic leader who was general counsel for Arkansas Power and Light Company from 1919 to 1941, president and chairman of the board of the company from 1941 to 1952, and chairman of the board from 1952 until his retirement in 1956. He was a member of the Little Rock law firms of Robinson, House and Moses (1926-1933) and House, Moses and Holmes (1933 -1966); he served, from time to time, as a trustee of Ouachita College, president of the Little Rock rotary Club and District Governor of Rotary International, and president of the Arkansas Economic Council and Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce.

The Colter Hamilton Moses Papers were donated to Special Collections by Nancy Moses Eubanks of Little Rock, Arkansas, April 1968.
