INFORMATION ABOUT HOLMAN RICHMOND
 
Holman Richmond, a native of Fort Smith, Arkansas, graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 1913.  He joined the Armed Forces of the United States of America in August 1917, was stationed in Brest, France, from November 1918 to June 1919, and after his return to the United States received honorable discharge from service as First Lieutenant of Engineers in July 1919.


INFORMATION ABOUT THE COLLECTION

Elise Richmond Vinzant, Fayetteville, Arkansas, donated the Holman Richmond War Scrapbook to the Special Collections Division on September 18, 1992.

The scrapbook, compiled by Holman Richmond's mother, Adelaide Holman Richmond, documents her son's  World War I experiences.  It contains newspaper and magazine clippings, letters, memoranda, telegrams, certificates, programs, menus, travel passes, circulars/general orders, announcements, receipts, picture postcards, photographs, and other memorabilia.

Processed by Vera Ekechukwu, Special Collections Division, University of Arkansas Libraries,  Fayetteville, Arkansas, in December 1998.
