Arkansian Header Logo

"Arkansian" was the name commonly used throughout the 19th century to denote residents of Arkansas. It was also the name of a prominent Fayetteville newspaper before the Civil War. The noun "Arkansan" evolved from this earlier form.

The Arkansian newsletter was published by the Special Collections Department, University of Arkansas Libraries, from 2007 to 2015. Inquiries should be directed to specoll@uark.edu.
