Description

The Walz Collection has never been completely indexed, but according to the finding aid it contains 2500 to some 3,000 photographs. They are arranged in notebooks. The arrangement is mostly geographical. Additional notebooks list the pictures by year, name and subject. Dr. Walz copied the pictures over a period of years for many different purposes including a newspaper series, for exhibits, for a TV production, for museums, historical societies and SARA (the Southwest Arkansas Regional Archives), for friends and family and even for strangers who requested photos. The positive images are copied on a form and are arranged in 15 notebooks with numbers, identification, source, number of negatives and various size prints available. The 8x10 and smaller prints are also available for browsing in 17 notebooks arranged by county and community and chronologically with numbering. Large prints are arranged in boxes by number.
