Academic Internships
Special Collections offers internships for academic credit for students interested in learning more about archival work. Interns might help process an archival collection, curate an exhibit, assist with creating bibliographies, topic guides or collections management, or help plan an event or program, depending on their area of interest. We encourage interested students from all disciplines to pursue an internship with us for academic credit.
Policies for registering for internships for credit vary by department, please contact your department for more information on the approval and registration process.
If you have questions about internships in Special Collections, or would like to pursue one yourself, please contact: Joshua Youngblood, jcyoungb@uark.edu.
Volunteers
Due to an ongoing renovation of Special Collections spaces, we are not accepting new volunteers until 2025.
Paid Student Positions
Special Collections has a rotating staff of Federal Work-Study student employees working as Special Collections Assistants. Student assistants work with Special Collections Staff to organize archival collections and help fill researcher requests. Please consult our website or contact a Library HR representative for available positions.
