Ashworth Collection of Native American and Western Art
The Ashworth Collection includes pieces on loan from Dr. Chris Ashworth of Fort Smith, Ark., a large animal veterinarian and owner of New Frontier Angus Ranches.
The Ashworth Collection includes watercolors, lithographs, pencil sketches, bronzes, and pottery depicting the Native American history and lifestyle. Dr. Ashworth says, "I like older pieces of art that were painted on site or seen as history actually took place," but he also appreciates the contemporary art being created by artists today. This exhibit contains works from both eras, spanning the past one hundred years and many states, locales, and cultures that collectively combine to define the colorful world known as the American West.
