Library Instruction

Open Sessions

Throughout the year, librarians offer walk-in sessions on various research tools and databases.

Ask a Librarian if you would like to request a class on a particular topic or tool.

University Classes

Library instruction classes at Mullins Library are offered to University students at the request of class instructors, and as the limits of time and available librarians and classrooms permit. Please call at least one week in advance to schedule; more time is preferable.

It is important that the students have received an assignment that requires library research when they come to the library instruction class; this improves their attention to and retention of the information.

Undergraduate classes in a specific field and graduate-level classes are scheduled with the Subject Specialist Librarians. General orientation classes are scheduled by email.

High School Classes

For more information about scheduling high school classes for library instruction and library research, see the Guidelines for Visits by Off-campus Groups.
