Simulation of electrochemical MHD induced flow in a microfluidic cell without channels
by Sen, Debamoy; Isaac, K. M.; Leventis, Nick; Fritsch, Ingrid
Numerical simulations of electrochemical magnetohydrodynamics (ECMHD) in a microfluidic cell without channels and having four floor-mounted microband electrodes were performed. Capabilities of the present simulations not available in simulations using other software platforms are highlighted. High resolutions results of the three-dimensional transient simulations are presented with special emphasis on the flow features. The flow field results demonstrate the feasibility of using electrode voltage biasing as a suitable parameter for flow control.
