trans-diaquabis(2,2'-bipyridine-N,N')-ruthenium(II) bis(hexafluorophosphate)

The Ru atom of the title complex, [Ru(C10H8N2)(2)(H2O)(2)](PF6)(2), is located on a crystallographic inversion center; the bipyridine ligands are bowed [dihedral angle between C5N planes is 162.68(12)degrees] due to the inter-ligand steric interactions of the trans bipyridyl units. The Ru-O distance is 2.116(2)Angstrom and the mean Ru-N distance is 2.074(2)Angstrom.
