A bimodal dithiadiazolyl diradical: crystal structure and magnetic properties of the 2,2 '-dimethylbiphenylene bridged derivative

by Barclay, Tosha Madeva; Cordes, A. Wallace; George, Noel A.; Haddon, Robert C.; Itkis, Mikhail E.; Oakley, Richard T.

The two termini of the torsionally strained dithiadiazolyl diradical S(2)N(2)C-C(6)H(3)Me-MeC(6)H(3)-CN(2)S(2) 3 possess different solid state structural environments; the bulk magnetic susceptibility of 3 is interpreted in terms of the distinct properties of the two radical centres.
